The North American Science Fiction Convention (NASFiC)
Presents one of the Largest Literary/Media Conventions in North America.

"CONUCOPIA":  As the name implies is a convention of the plentiful. 
Celebrating the Genre of Science Fiction and Fantasy four days from
Thursday, August 26, 1999 to Sunday, August 29, 1999 From 10:00 AM every
day at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, California, USA. 

This years Author Guest of Honor is the world renowned Dr. Jerry
Pournelle, advisor to NASA and Presidents of the United States.  Our
Editor Guest of Honor is Ellen Datlow, former Fiction Editor of OMNI
Magazine and editor of numerous Anthologies.  In recognition of their
lifetime contributions to the genre Richard and Nicki Lynch will be our
Fan Guests of Honor.  Other Guests that have confirmed are noted futurist,
Harlan Ellison and J. Michael Straczynski Creator & Producer of TV, Films
and especially "Babylon 5". 

This year Science Fiction and Fantasy are a solid part of this Summer's
Movie Blockbusters.  So, if you read the books at lunchtime, see the
movies with friends on the weekend, watch the shows on Cable, TV and
Videos, then this is the place to go for the weekend. 

We will have four days to talk Science Fiction with Authors, and Editors
who will read excerpts from their Literary Creations.  Plus, autographs
galore.  There will be original artwork such as oils, pastels, pencils and
mixed media.  Endless hours of Science Programming will include
researchers from JPL and NASA.  Wait there's more!  We will have hundreds
of tables of new, used and rare books, art and lots of cool stuff.  We
dare you not to buy something. 

Scheduled are Programs and Panels from Science to Art.  Topics range from
"cloning--it's so 30's" to "how to be a writer".  Enjoy the Singing and
Dancing.  Join Authors and Editors of renown and People just like you. 

Special events and Performances, even Costume Contests:  The Masquerade,
an on stage performance as well as a hall costume contest.  Come as you
are and you could win a ribbon; you've always wanted to wear that suit of
armor Uncle George got you. 

Dancing Every Night with styles from Rock to Regency.  Singing and
wandering troubadours throughout the convention. 

But most of all YOU will have a chance to meet other people with common
interests.

Hurry and Join before the rates go up.  You can even stay at the Hotel to
save you all that traveling time (Hotel room rates are separate from
membership rates and not "included" in the convention membership rates.)
