L. Sprague de Camp has also won the International Fantasy Award for Lands Beyond in 1953; the Cleveland SF Association Award for Tales from Gavagan's Bar in 1953; the fiction award, Anthenaeum of Philadelphia for An Elephant for Aristotle in 1958; the Eighth Drexel Citation for Distinguished Contibution to Literature for Young People in 1978; the First Annual Second Fandom Award in 1980; the World Fantasy Convention Award for lifetime achievement in 19 84; and the Robert Bloch Award (with his wife Catherine Crook de Camp) in 1995.
He is also well known for his many non-fiction works in history, science and biography. Over the years, has co-authored with his wife, Catherine Crook de Camp.
